Some Hasselblad Street Photos from Paris

Martin, great job. Not bad for a 20 year old with a "Hassy" :D. I enjoyed looking at those. I like the scan quality and tonal range on most of them. I read through the thread and am not sure I missed it - did you mention how you scanned them?

I've been itching to get back into MF. In the 80's, I had a 500 C/M w/50/80/150 CF lenses and sold them for Leica M equipment. Kinda' miss them sometimes. Always loved looking onto the screen via the WLF.

My technique was to meter with a Gossen Luna Pro SBC which has EV scale readouts and simply apply them to the lens.

I'm torn between getting a used 500 C/M and 80 Planar CF, a SWC/M, or a 6x9 folder w/coupled-rangfinder. All different beasts, but all fun! ;)

Anyway, keep'em, coming.

Here is may version, worked by zones, as with a wet print :)

A bit rough, I forgot to remove dusts :/

I think I like shadow detail in the originals more. It makes them look more MF-ish. The halo around the lady's head is also pretty distracting.

I do like the grittiness of the 2nd one though, I think your edit changes the feel a great deal.

One more, not too centered.

Have a good night everyone

//EDIT ahh whatever, it _is centered

Martin:

Love the tonality in the first five shots as others have said. The last two shots don't really grab me the way the first five do. I like this image a great deal! The angling down from upper left to bottom right really makes it for me. There's a real sense of movement here! Well-composed. You've inspired me to try some of the same here in Philly with my SL66. Thanks, I enjoyed the images.

Thanks a lot for your comment!

So many of you said they're inspired now to go and shoot some street with a MF SLR, how about the first one who gets a role done starts a new thread where we can all post in? "Rules" should be pretty simple - MF, SLR, Street. I'd love to have some more inspiration!

I have a Hassie 501CM/60mm Distagon street rig. [The 60mm equates to about 35mm lens in 135mm format]. Might take it for a spin in New Orleans next month.

Nice shots, was there mention of the lens , 50/4 maybe ?
#2 #4 i like the best.
#2 looks menacing in way.
#4 is classic
5 is also cool
