Some lenses tested on a Chinese website

Hi, I have one question what kind of images are you talking about.?

To be honest. I personally would not appreciate these daily, plain, tasteless digital images which are hardly distinguishable from one would make with a phone camera.

There isn't any test either, just pictures. More like a checklist of the lenses the guy had used. An impressive list, though, thanks to Canon...

"I Love Film" thanks for this interesting link. This is an informative site!

David explain...
Possibly I'm missing something (through my lack of Chinese language) but how is this collection of ebay type images informative? Where are the lens tests?

I can't find any information on this site, apart from the rudimentary poor quality shots of lenses and average quality snaps shots with a few of the lenses, over-processed from a Canon 5D with adapter.

I'll stick to cameraquest as an 'informative' site, or just use Flickr tags of Pbase searches.

You know Rangefinderforum has always encouraged the free dissemination of information and photo samples of quality lenses of general interest without being held to any standard of artistic pretense - this is something I like about RFF. Thanks again to "I Love Film" for the enjoyable link and please, please don't be discouraged by the frankly rather shocking negativity on display here.

just for your information: *.blogspot.com are among the sites which are not accessible from mainland china (filtered by the "great firewall").

Shocking negativity? Surely you jest!

What on this site could be of possible interest to anyone? Just photo's of lenses, and very poor samples with massive punchy contrast and blown higlights.
There is no information, how can it be informative? It would be impossible to evaluate any of the lenses based upon the 20-30 mins I spent there.
Seriously don't be offended, I'm just asking a question.

I'm totally bemused– I really don't get it , I thought there were some lens tests? That this was a forum for technical discussion?
These look to be just a bunch of lenses with a few poor IQ samples thrown in.

I'm not trying to censure anyone, just giving my opinion.

Interesting site, if only to look at a few lenses Flickr-style.

He does have a few combinations in there that are usually thought to be impossible even with shaving the camera mirror etc., such as the Leica Elmarit-R 24/f2.8 on a 5D. Makes you wonder what he did to his camera.

Indeed, however its so easy to get around that its no biggy.

I checked out that website. The images on it are a little "clean" but very typical of the style of photo that hobbyists take here.

Also some of the info on that site is wrong, lens versions and such. For instance the Leica M 35 f2 is labeled version 3 and its actually version 4.

Though the language is Chinese it is a Hong Kong site. Thanks for the link. I look at it as a visual database and it is informative.
