Well, I'm hoping it's Sigma Photo Pro....
It does get a better dynamic range than the other

Try pushing it +1 or +2 ie. iso800, underexpose by 1 or 2 stops, then over exposing back +1 or 2 stops in SPP. effectively iso1600 or 3200.
Here's a recent one.

So what's the verdict? IQ worth the quirks or pain in butt?

It's really a no brainer.
The camera is great an it makes great
IQ. I like it better than my M cameras,
in fact better than all of them.
I got a romance going fer sure...

I really enjoy mine after getting over the quirks but I wouldn't say it's THE camera for me. I enjoy them all - depending on mood! ; )
Here's one pushed to 3200

Not to highjack the thread, but I have to admit, I really enjoy mine. Low ISO's, the detail and 'smoothness' is remarkable. I typically keep it in color. At high ISO, the black and white really work for me.
Here is a shot taken hand held 1/20, F4, ISO 800, with EV dialed in -1.0. In PP, I brought the exposure back to 0. Effectively, ISO 1600.
