I shot while at the Leica Akademy in San Francisco.
Very fun little class.
The instructors were really cool to talk to.
Though, I did feel out of place as half the attendees brought in their own M9's. Yes, that means the other half didn't, but I'm a pessimist I suppose...

It was fun! Also great to meet you. I used a 28mm Elmarit.

in my case, I went having only experience with a rangefinder 20 years ago. My eyes aren't what they used to be.
Here are my photos. Some are cropped, one is perspective corrected, but most have had no PP done at all.

That said, I'm now convinced I want to buy one. It's a simple matter of money and opportunity at this point.

You know, actually now that I played with the M9 I decided I don't want it. I mean it was cool to be able to see the image after I shot it, and you can totally feel the quality of the product. But it's just not for me. I was using the academy as a test drive sort of thing to see how I felt about it. If anything, it made me want a film camera even more. Go fig right! Haha
But maybe I will take the class again in November when it comes to Los Angeles, sometimes I have learned that I don't like things on first try... Then later on I become obsessive about it. So there may still be a chance for the M9 to come love in Compton California!

Woke up quick at about noon
Just thought I had to try an M9 soon
Gotta pick a lens before the shoot begins
When I go out snappin' with my new friends
Sorry to hear an M9 wasn't your cuppa at first, do try it with a different lens.

Cool pics Deirdre. If I make it to LAs Akademy I will try a less wide lens. 16mm became overkill for me.
Right now im fascinated by the EVIl... an R8.

I think the 28mm was a great choice for me: it's wider than the 40mm (effective) I normally work with on my GF1, so it pushed my limits. I can tell I was thinking in 40mm, though.

I've had my M9 for 1 week. These are the first batch of photos. This is an awesome camera!

Not what you normally shoot with an M9.
A 3-shot tone-map (HDR sort-of) with a 50mmSummicon.

jcrutcher, nice pics! I like #3 the best. #2 is my second favorite.
I found that I kept getting a different shot than I expected, but that's because I was very new to the camera.

I see the M9 produces the same faint magenta skin tone that is typical of the M8. Does anyone know a cure for this? (No way I am going to shell out 7,000 $ for a camera that don't produces 'true' colors).
And....
Could we have the posibility here at RFF to post 'larger photos' without going thru flickr, please...?
