Roger, I have no doubt on your experience and good intention here, and of course I am not attacking anyone, but if -with all your background used to post here your point- you were Salgado's editor, tell me honestly:
Would you refuse his best shots if a little bit off focus or one step over/underexposed?
Would you dare telling him "you did it the wrong way"?
Would you tell him "switch to another format 'cause I consider fascinating having a bit more detail "?
Would you be repeating to him "GET IT! YOUR SHOTS SHOULD HAVE A HIGHER TECHNICAL QUALITY!"?
Maybe he wouldn't even open his mouth, but I know what he would think of you. And what he would do...
Not only for him or HCB, but for the world and generations, it's been nice that you were not in charge of their images.
As for what this thread concerns you, you are free: don't buy a smaller format camera.
Cheers,
Juan

Roger has never equated technical quality with the value of an image. You're simply arguing against what you want to argue against, not what he's saying.
Your insistence to the contrary is remarkable. I don't know if it'a a language thing, an attention span thing, or simply a delusional thing.

Don't insist, please. It's other people, not me, who needed to talk about other things, argue, or see my shots...
I don't even care if mods delete this thread: it is a sad one, just showing really stupid self imposed limits. I quit. I shoot very well and comfortably with my beliefs. Stop arguing, this stupid thread is well under RFF standards. It deserves to disappear. Or not: I don't take those decisions here, and I don't care either.

Mainly yours (referring to the part I highlighted in bold).
Either you separate technical and aesthetic quality, or you don't.
If you don't, you're right, there's no argument.
If you do...
