Hi guys,
sometimes **** happens...
Looks like I'll stop working for 3-4 months.
It was a fire. Big fire.
It came from neighboring land lot.
My carport completely was in fire, and house partially damaged too.
I lost many tools and spare wheels for cars in workroom at carport,
completely needs reconstruction of roof of house (and top floor too).
My camera workroom (and almost all in house) was in safety, but got some problem from water.
All cameras sent to me are in safety.
All my tools and cameras for sale are in safety too.
But all furniture and thing moved to guest house and now in different boxes. I'll try to do temporary workplace for repairing cameras sent to me, but it takes one month or more.
We are living in small apartment now, I'll going to bank for loan money and next months I'll spend for restoring my house.
Sorry guys....
Please, if someone visits other camera forums explain to other not send cameras to me for some time.
Also I'll start selling my collection of FSU cameras after restoration my house (yes, bank want to get their money back with interest)
I am very disappointed by this great problem, but it's a good chance to change our life, maybe...

Hi Oleg, so sorry to hear of your plight. This must be hard on you and your family, but as you sound like a positive kind of guy, I am sure that you will overcome and rise like the mythical Phoenix reborn from the flames. I wish you well at this difficult time.
Kind regards, John.

Hi,

I was very sad to learn about this. We are all wishing you luck with the bank and the house. I'm glad no one was hurt.

Regards, David

So sorry to hear this.

Bought items from you a few years back and was always happy. Best of luck with the house repairs, and if there are any Kneb items up for sale, please let us on this board know.

Wish Oleg the best. He seems like a decent guy. Glad no one was hurt but what a frustrating hassle.

Reminiscent of Essex. I've always thought that what will really dent film use isn't the availability of film, but the availability of repair. Hope Oleg gets back to doing what he is so good at.

Wishing you the best in your recovery, Oleg. I know what you're going through, as family and friends have had house fires, and it took a lot of work to get them back in shape. If not for a fire wall, I could have been burned out of one of my former apartments. The smoke damage was bad enough.

Good luck!

PF

My dear Oleg,
I am so sorry to read about your loss.
Thankfully you and your family are OK.
Best wishes on restoring all back to order.
Rick

Hi Oleg,
Sorry to read about the fire at your house; glad that no one was injured. I wish you good success in getting "up and running" again.

Hi all,
thank you for your good wishs
We are started working already.
Destroyed carport removed,
Dismounting of roof started also.
The bad thing is house in not insured - it's a common for Russia due to problem insurance system in Russia.
So, temps of recovery determines by my financial possibility...
Yes, my local friends helped me already with moving all things from house, hope they helps me with some friendly money loan (bank want extremely high interest 20-23% - it's a common for Russia too...)
No time to sorrow, I should work, I'll restore my house...

Hi Oleg,

Have you thought about a peer-to-peer loan? You have a number of supporters here who know what you do, and you can probably secure a much lower interest rate that way. No pressure, just a question.

Cheers,
Rob

Hmmm, if we are thinking of getting Oleg to repair a camera, then why not send him (say) US$75 now 'on account' an then when everything is normal send the camera and he repairs it and, perhaps, we have some money left on the account for the next one...

Just a thought.

Regards, David

How to fix broken camera?
You need just take it apart and reassemble properly using good parts...
How to fix house, damaged by fire?
Same way...
Disassembling started.
Roof needs completely rebuilding.

Friends, thank you very much for offering me some money as a prepayment for future work...
But I want to say Russian proverb
Loan is not good:
you take other people's money for a some time
but give back own money forever.

But I am very grateful to you, my friends,
And I ask you, if I do not find other ways to get the money ...

Best wishes for a quick and uncomplicated recovery, Oleg.

Glad to hear that noone was injured, though.

Fire damage, or smoke, is my major fear since I have to store several Lithium-Polymer batteries at my home...

Oleg-I still have the Kiev cameras bought from you which started the Kiev Craze .
good luck with the rebuilding .
