Here are a few more photos taken in Guanajuato, Mexico and in Tokyo Japan with a 21mm Voigtlander f/4 and Zeiss T* f/2. Comments appreciated.

I like the cats. I think B&W would add some abstraction to the shot.

I like the photos. The wide angle shot looks like the vignetting needs a little correction but it's a nice image.

Very nice site, I like your work. Mexico is really hard to beat for a photographer. I recently went to Turkey. It is a photographers dream, but it just wasn't fun like Mexico is.

Nice, Jeff. Which hood are you using with the Voigtlander 21mm? I have the "P" version of the lens used with the LH-1 hood and haven't seen that amount of vignetting. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Burkey....i use the tiny little hood that came with the lens. Have to look to see what number it is. The vignetting can be pretty "bad" depending on shooting conditions, etc... but I honestly like it (and will increase it) on a lot of photos. I find it adds focus to the subject and more depth to the photo (in most cases)....and for me it gives it an old film type feel rather than the technically perfect photos coming out of most DSLR's.
Do you always correct for vignetting? Or is it a case by case assessment?

I agree that the vignetting can actually add to the image on some occasions. The LH-1 hood that I've been using looks like this;

I bought it after noticing my fingers finding their way in front of the lens sometimes. 😉
Although I've been very happy with Capute One LE it does not have the lens correction feature that Epson PhotoRAW has and yes, I do correct for vignetting sometimes just not removing it completely.
I really doubt the small hood that comes with the 21mm caused the vignetting. Is yours the screw-mount or m-mount version lens?

Mine is the old screw mount with the adapter. The vignetting is normal for this wide of a lens, as far as I know...I sometimes increase it depending on the photo. I think what prompted the discussion.
I haven't tried Capture One, but i'm quite happy with Lightroom's vignetting correction.

Your lens made me try to find a Vignette PlugIn, but I can't find one that doesn't blur the edges. I really like that look. Maybe I'll just have to buy the lens. What was it again?
