I was happy, so happy with my gear reduction of late.
I have been good, so good!
I have had no desire for any more gear ... and then I see this thread!

Gary: as a fellow Foveonite... What is your opinion?
We know what the Sigmas can do, but the color shots here look so "effortless" -as several previous posters have stated ... filmish!

I think the Ricoh looks good. From my experience w/ the gxr, I would say they know how to get pleasing colors out of any sensor. I think the foveon is still a bit better in terms of color capability and b&w in terms of tonal quality, but if u never print big, I really don't think u are going to notice any difference from the resolution side of the coin. MHO.
Jsrocket loves his.
If u are looking for a front jean pocketable camera w/ good iq right now I can only think of three (there maybe others).. Ricoh grd, Nikon Coolpix a and Sony rx100. If u don't need a zoom and u are ok w/ 28, Ricoh would be the one I would get. It hits all my checks list items.
Of course we don't know who else is going to jump into this arena by the end of the year.
For me right now, I am pretty happy w/ what I have. And it has taken a bit of money trying a lot of different amera systems to get to this point.
