It's a rainy day here in Bangkok and I have been going through some "snap-shots" of some photos that I have taken over the last 2-3 years out here in South-East Asia...

Vietnamese dog catcher (thief)....this was an extremely difficult project that I set out to do....it ended up never being completed....this guy goes out on the streets and catches dogs and sells them to restaurants....some say that he will also go into someones front yard and steal family dogs as well....it was a sad story for me...

If I remember correctly, he had 14 dogs in the basket...he sold them for about 1.25usd...they had to be alive in order for the restaurant to buy them......cheers, michael

Killing Fields....Cambodia.....I have visited it a couple of times, and something that I will never forget is walking around the place and seeing human bones and old clothing sticking out of the ground....someone collects the bones and puts them in little prayer houses that are set up throughout the fields...

That blue outline of the building in the back left.. is that Ben Thanh Market? Love the shot.

Hello Hunghang....thanks for the compliment.....it is a beautiful country....and yes, you are correct.... that is Ben Thanh Market....I really do suck at scanning....none of the scans look like my prints..the colors are way off....it's alright though...I can live with "the prints look better"...hahahahah....cheers, michael

These next three are nothing special (just snap-shots) but I like them because of the memories....(photography is so awsome).....I used to take motorcycle trips alone out in the country side and stay at these random hotels where I would have to park my bike in my room...
self-portrait...

Very nice photos, I was wondering what film this was shot on? Love the slightly off colours..

Hey thanks Tensai.....I used Fuji Pro 100 alot when I was living in Saigon....my local lab had it and it was pretty cheap (1.25 usd a roll)..I remember going online and searching for it and I read somewhere that it was fuji 160, but rebranded for a different market...but I am not sure, it was about 3 years ago....I do remember that my choices were limited and that is what I used....I am not sure if the colours are off because of my poor scanning abilities or the way the photo is...I do remember when I first started this thread, I wasn't happy with the way the images looked on my computer compared to the actual photos...but oh well...I can live it for now....

35mmdelux.....I visited many dog restaurants when I was shooting that story above, something that I will never forget.....as far as monkeys go, they have restaurants where you can basically get whatever you want....if they dont have it, the can get it...it is actually pretty sad when you see it.....and of course, there are also markets where you can buy "rare/exotic/special" animals....but then again, I live in Bangkok now, and I am sure that one can find something similar if one wanted to....

Asia is something else compared to back home (Berkeley/San Francisco)...cheers, michael
