Fine reporting on your day out with the Zorki-4, Colton. For as old as they are, if taken good care of, they just keep chugging along.
I think you've hit on the solution to many an unsolvable light leak I've experienced with most of my FED and Zorki cameras. After repairing a leaky shutter curtain with some fabric paint, I was giving it the light saber test (my LED flashlight will pretty much blind you if looked at directly), and I noticed that light gets by the top of the curtain, and also past the baffles into the film canister chamber.
I think I can fix the canister chamber leak with some gaffer tape, but not sure how to approach the curtain edge leak.
Glad you can enjoy Red Oktober!
