Is the Russian officer carrying a Baby Graflex? I assume he borrowed it from one of the Americans
It looks like Sgt Sievers has his War Photographer patch on his right sleave. I've read about it being done, but it's the first picture I've seen of this. Certainly the first time I've seen it on an M43 Jacket.
Sgt Toone, appears to be wearing a flight jacket.
I'm sorry I can't help you Tom. I'll ask over at the WW2 re-enactment board. Some of their "war photographers" have contact with the men who did the real deal.
Ron, I'm sure those guys would love to see this image too. Is it okay if I link it?
I have no problems if you would link this post. I am not sure whether I was allowed to post this myself, but considering it is a pic from 1946, I think there are no worries to make.
I have some more info on this. The men here presented were war photographers and were appointed to work at the Nürnberg Trial. The photo is taken in front of the Nürnberg ruins. Nürnberg was one of the German cities, like Dresden that was totally destoyed by the end of WW II.
The Ukrainian-born photojournalist Yevgeny Khaldei (in the middle) captered this famous photo of burning Berlin.

Here is some info on how he somewhat manipulated this photo: http://rfe.rferl.org/featuresarticle/2008/6/FFF67D9B-6F33-46FC-84B8-BB95E4FC4C13.html
