First thing I'm going to do with it, when I get it, is to shoot some skateboading tricks with my younger son. I'll add the Norman 200b flash for that.
I used to own the Kiev Fisheye for years. Carl Zeiss blows that away, I've compared them side by side, when I borrowed a friend's 30mm FLE. I am stoked.

What amazed me is that this lens went on the auction block three times, with no bites but mine. The filters I am told, are no longer available from Zeiss, and they were several hundred dollars apiece! Nearly impossible to find by themselves.
This one is only -slightly- nicer than mine, notice the price:

Don't know if its a definite trend but hasselblad system (and all MF giants) is abandonned in favor of digital because now it gets almost as sharp as old time medium format negs!
Pro gear like this fish lens sure seems a killer lens, be glad to score those rare birds in troubled times like these, I'm glad I shell out for my rolleiwide!

I thought of my son when I saw this post, he's 14 and rides alot, he also videos himself and his buddies with a fisheye lens adapter. Have fun and post the results.

Todd,
I'm told this lens is a favorite of the West-Coast pro skateboarding photographers.
Lots of magazine covers done with this bad boy. Truely point and shoot, from just a few feet away.

I'm photographing an outdoor Rock Concert later today (My younger Son plays the electric bass in this local band) and I'm taking the 350mm and 40mm and one of my EL/M's. B&W and color Instant Fuji, Delta 3200, TXP220, and NPZ220 for color.
Wish I had the Fish, I would take it as well.

Henry's in Toronto is an extremely good source for Hasselblad. They have had a couple of CFV digital backs I have recently watched with great interest. My new 30mm T* Distagon is now well on it's way to me, it would be great to have it for this upcoming weekend.
I think the goo will clean off the lens barrel. And a bit of black electrical tape will coverup the numbering scratched onto the lens barrel. And then I'll have a fairly decent-looking 'blad fisheye.

It's Here!
It's Here!
Goin' out this afternoon to shoot some pictures with it..........
My new lens, mounted on EL/M, fits neatly into my Domke 803 Messenger Bag, for carrying around/protection. I'm extremely pleased with how this all turned out. Figured out how to take it apart, and change the Zeiss filters. Today I am using the Yellow one.

Found the front cap, $24.95 from B&H or Adorama:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/21323-REG/Hasselblad_51659_Front_Push_On_Lens_Cap.html
Lens cleaned-up nicely, goo removed from barrel with Ronsonol fluid, Scratched numbers on lens barrel covered with two strips of carefully trimmed black electrical tape. Looks real nice now! Took a quick test in the backyard yesterday with EL/M. Looks great through the viefinder, really sweet. Finishing a roll of 70mm B&W film, hopefully today.
Delighted with my new purchase!

Snorting silver salts
I agree.
Unscrew the rear end, add fish and water, and you'll have a very nice bowl indeed!
