Nevertheless, he wants EUR 100.00 for that piece of cr*p!

What I love is that he engraved a "T" into the beauty ring of the lens, painted it red, then blacked it out with a Shaprie. We used to black out the red "T"s on Zeiss cinematography lenses back in the day.
Makes it really authentic.
Best,

Why would a cinematographer care if the red "T" is visible?

So....guess I got a bargain for a I-61 at $12 shipped?
Nope, mine feels like a $12 lens, although it focuses ok on my M4-2 with one of those $10 Chinese LTM to M adapters.

I guess someone will buy it and at least he/she is honest about it.
I'm guessing of course but can't help thinking about all those people who drink that stuff they pass off as beer these days...

Actually we'd sharpie all the writing on the beauty ring of the lenses, as the white (and red) writing would sometimes reflect off the inside of a lens filter behind the matte box.

The I-61 L/D was (as far as I know) only made in black finish, not polished aluminium. If it's been transplanted into an older mount, who knows if it's been done properly. Anyway, why not have the genuine article, they are a pretty reasonable lens as-is!
