Leica LTM Something odd going on here?

Is it me or is there something odd about this camera?

289012 is or ought to be a IIIb. The knobs look odd, something strange is happening with the eyepiece, too many screws on the back and generally it just doesn't look right.

Or is it just me...opinions?

It looks the same as this IIIB advertised on ebay, but much rougher condition. The shutter button is the only thing I can see that looks actually different. It'd much rather buy this one:

Top plate looks like it's been sandblasted
And a bit like my Dad's car, not a straight panel on it

I think it's Ok, it looks like the top of the button has come off the release, and there may have been a flash socket removed, which would explain the extra screw in the top plate. I'm wondering if it has the correct eyepiece as well. Bottom plate looks OK for a III series body.

It looks like it has been dropped on one end - maybe just had a hard life?

I like the "zoom" too 😉

The "lens thingy" is a loupe for negatives/slides but I think it is missing some parts?

A lot of screws are replaced on the camera and in general, something I would avoid - but perhaps someone is more open to taking a chance.

I don't think so. Possibly made from parts of different cameras though.
