Sonnar 50/1.5 .. what the-?

Let me ask -- when you look through the lens from the rear with the aperture wide open, do you notice the separation at all? I'm sure others can tell you that there is a difference on film, but I have a Rolleiflex/Planar with this condition and can't say I notice a problem. I think it would manifest itself in the form of reduced contrast, since in effect you now have an additional air-glass surface. In other words, what was said in this thread the first time around.

Two things you can do, I thnk -- use the lens at smaller apertures (smaller than the area with the separation), and use a good shade.

Per the earlier posts, no workaround (other than avoiding vibration or shock that might accelerate the separation), but also not hopeless if the lens produces acceptable results.

this looks similar to the original poster's lens issue. any workaround to minimize the effect of separation while i i save up for a lens fix? or is this hopeless? thanks. View attachment 98775
