I have a new to me CZJ 5cm f/1.5 in the fine 272nnnn series. I got that and then the Bertele one after the other. They are nice lenses. I recently did a lens test of those two and three others (Sonnar Lens Tests) at four different f-stops. F/4.0 looked pretty good to me so I went out today with Carl to shoot some color around two of my haunts: Alderbrook and the West Mooring Basin here in Astoria, OR. The f/1.5 has that Sonnar object modeling and color that I like so much. And here is a string of today's shots. All SOOC.

I only have c41 prints, no scans, but can confirm that the uncoated 4cm f2 Sonnar on a Tenax -II from 1939 provides sharp pictures with good colours -

A quick question. Is the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 LTM a sonnar design? It’s for sale locally attached to a Nicca 3f copy.

Am intrigued by the lens and would love to try it on one of my Barnacks.

Do you mean the Nikkor 50/1.4 or the 50/2? Both are sonnar designs

The ad just mentioned f/1.2 and this is the puzzle. I’d never heard of such a lens and couldn’t find anything on line so am beginning to suspect a typo. It’s probably the f1.4 but am still interested as I’ve never owned a sonnar and want to experience one for myself.

Attached to a Nicca- Either a 5cm F2 lens, 40.5mm filters OR a 5cm F1.4 lens with 43mm filters. Both are Sonnar formula lenses.

Thanks guys. I went and took a look at the camera, turned out it was the f/2 version Nikkor. I’d hoped it would be the f/1.4 but ended up buying anyway just to get a taste of Sonnar capabilities. Camera and lens were in decent shape, glass clear, all shutter speeds sound right, and the rangefinder patch was good. Will probably initially use the lens on one of my M4s or Barnacks.
Price seemed reasonable, $250 Canuck or $190 US.
