Sony announced their new QX1 E mount digital "camera" today. It is a lens mount integrated with a 20MM sensor that will accept Leica lenses with a simple E mount adapter.
The Holy Grail for film users was always thought to be a digital back. This QX1 may change our thinking. The sensor and electronics can hang from the front of a film body. All that is lacking is a mechanical adapter to the rangefinder cam and we might have a viable design.
