Soon to be Bessa R2 owner

I am pretty happy with my Jupiter 8 also.
I got a R2 early august, the the Jupiter was my first lens for it. Well, for £15 this was a very good surprise.
I think I'll not replace it until I can afford a C-Sonnar...

I have a Jupiter 8 on my Bessa R and have never thought about putting something else on there instead. The J8 is a solid performer.

Oh I got an olive bessa T awhile ago. I was impatient and thought I would be fine without the viewfinder. I've really struggled with it. I enjoy the rangefinder process but having to jump back and forth between rangefinder and viewfinder is not ideal. So far everything has been out of focus except for one cat shot and a few random exterior shots. I do not know if it is the lens or my incompetence. My only lens is from the 50's and is in worse shape than advertised by the seller. My first rolls of film were terrible and have yet to develop my latest attempts. I am a good photographer, and years of art school attest to some sense of framing. I've been shooting with a digital camera for the last 8 years so having to think and set every shot up is a welcome change. I'd much rather have something with SOME framelines....an m6's framelines would be peachy. But I have a bessa r2 budget.
Have you gotten your R2 yet?

New camera yay! Good to know as I am without means and need some lenses. I have read that the russian lenses should be avoided, yet others speak well of them and photographers use them without problems and love them. I did not know the canon lenses were ltm. I have an elimarit 90 mm f4 from the 50's. It's a ltm and gosh darn pretty. But the fstop ring is stiff, so for awhile I was focusing the lens and then the f stop afterwards only to move the focus ring again thus creating horribly out of focus photographs. There is also a chance the lens itself is sketchy. So, be careful with unseen lenses.

Heather;

I got the olive R2 from Keh last week. They listed it as Mint- but I can't find a mark on it. I ordered a CV 35mm 2.5 Color Skopar (silver of course) and received that also. Hope to shoot with it VERY soon.

Well, my R2 unit arrived last week and it's in absolute in mint condition! I'll be looking for an LTM to M bayonet adapter and then I'll shop around for a Jupiter to play around with.

I have some savings being released soon so I'll be able to get a proper lens at that time.

Is the Voigtlander 35/1.4 any good, or should I splurge all my hard savings on the 35/1.2?

I'm used to my D-Lux 4, so I really like the wide angles. Can anyone here confirm that a 28mm can be framed using the whole of the R2 viewfinder?
