I talked to santa yesterday and told her I wanted a Moskva 2 for Christmas. She found a minty one from a guy in the Russia that I had purchased from before and ordered it. I particularly liked the classic look of the model 2. This is to be just a fun camera like my Sputnik, Kiev and Feds. How does the 2 compare to the 4 other than the VF? Are they reasonably good cameras? Any comments?
Thanks!

I have both a 2 and a 5. Both are nice, but the 2 seems more solid, with a better feel. It helps that my 2 is a better specimen than the 5.

I have not yet developed the first roll that I took with my 5 two weeks ago, so I cannot comment on its performance. I found that controls were designed for a left handed gorilla with small fingers, but it seems like a fun camera to drive, particularly in 6 by 9 format. I will be interested to compare when I get back home and can develop the roll of film. I fear that Daniel's comments may be generally applicable to the genre.

Right now I am waiting for a Moskva 2, should be interesting to compare it to my other folders.

Two years ago I took my Moskva-5 to hawaii on vacation. Shot about 7 rolls of Fuji NPH.

The fun factor is what it's all about. I have plenty of premium photo gear that I use in the commercial business but fun is number one. One of the most fun cameras that I own is a sputnik stereo 120 camera.
