Sooo I put a roll of film through the wash

I left a roll of Fuji Color Press 800 (wildly expired I imagine) in the pocket of my pants and then proceeded to put said pants through both the washer and dryer. Should I bother shooting it, or is it toast?

Yeah, I'm thinking that roll is garbage. Why chance missing a great shot with what is almost surely now an un-useable roll of film?

I imagine you're all right, but I can't throw away a roll of film. I will probably just throw it in my EOS 3 and shoot unimportant things with it.

That roll may be wet inside. Even a Nikonos doesn't like water on the inside. Joe

Interesting approach to photography: shooting unimportant things only, with a roll that's not film anymore, risking a healthy camera, and all of it knowing there'll be no images in the end! You're an artist! 😉 Now seriously, who knows what you can get... You might get something nice... In any case, I'd go for interesting scenes every frame, just like with great film in front of a great scene... Good luck!

Hmm. I didn't consider the potential for wet insides. Good thing I consulted you wise fellows before I did something stupid.

I'm with the others on this one - don't put it in a camera! Either it's wet, which is bad for cameras, or it's stuck together on the spool and will be VERY hard to wind - also bad for cameras.

I probably wouldn't, the film will be stuck to itself and you might risk something if you try to advance the film. If you have a beater camera, maybe just for ****s and giggles.

Don't mix colors and (black &) whites. Machine dry on cool. Ooops! Who among us hasn't run their wallet through the wash. At least that roll of film wasn't in a camera at the time.

I've developed a roll of C-41 and it was fine after an encounter with both washer and dryer.

That was already shot though.
