Got a minty SOOPD lens shade off eBay for my Summitar but man, is it huge! lol... Are you guys out there shooting with this thing on you Summitars? It is an ingenious device - well designed and constructed (I'm a sucker for black wrinkle paint) - and am pleased there is a cutout for the viewfinder, but it's looks awfully weird on there - but in a good way.

Also noticed a bit of stiffness on the bottom barn-door and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for lightly lubricating the hinges/springs. I'm worried about anything attacking the finish and the anti-relective powder coat inside the shade. Was thinking of maybe using graphite... Any thoughts... Thanks...

I personally use a slip-on Series VI adapter and Series VI filters and sunshade on my Summitar. I also use a Leitz Brightline external finder, so the shade's blockage of the internal finder is no problem.

I do use the shade on my Summitar. It is ingenious, and I think is very practical. I have no problems with sticky pieces, but would think a very SMALL application of graphite powder wouldn't hurt anything.

Also, love that Luigi case. I'm still saving, and appears to be long term. Bad time to be broke, but don't know of a good time...

Hi Harry, just got he Luigi case shortly after New Years. Luigi is a pleasure to deal with. I asked for red leather (I thought it was felt) on the inside for the case and shoulder strap pad (to match the IIIF Red Dial - sick I know!) lol... and he accommodated me no problem. Delivery was fast.

To complete my IIIF outfit, I am hunting for a mint 5cm SBOOI viewfinder with finger grooves but am not having much luck lately. Keeping my eyes open.

Keep saving those pennies, the Luigi case feels really nice in the hands...
