Sorting M8 files . . .

I am starting to have too many files to remember which lens was used for which photo.
Especially when you have several 50mm.


Is there a way to tag the lens name into the original DNG?
I would liko tag my images after I load them into the PC.

Lightroom has metadata presents . . . I am still trying to figure it out.
Any clues?


How do you organise your images?

You know, sometimes I just want to pull up all the Nokton images . . . . or some other lens.

Are your lenses coded - the focal length would then be written into the exif data. You can use a program like Exifer to sort and search your files based on any exif value, eg shutter speed, ISO, aperture (not for M8).

Otherwise, if you remember which lens you used, you can do a batch rename on the files, adding the focal length.

I am still learning Capture one but it has a spot where you can insert a caption. This is then placed in the Metadata. You could use it to insert the lens size when you upload the photos on your computer.
