Dear Fellow Members,
With great pleasure I would like to introduce a new photo essay book by our Forum Member, Lans Brahmantyo (Brahm). The book and photo exhibition was launched in Jakarta on May 05, 05 and will last until May 25, 05.
The photographer and the book have been acknowledged and supported by Leica Camera AG. All photographs were exclusively taken with Leica MP and M7.
Here is the Synopsis and Book Cover:
In SOUL ODYSSEY by Lans Brahmantyo, the journey is but a route. It is like a process by which his determination becomes a destination. Using a realistic approach, the simplicity of angles stands out in Brahm’s photographs, illustrating his explicit strength. His photographic creation can be called a ‘visual soliloquy’ because of the way it expresses a yearning for a very personal spiritual enlightenment. Never without a camera, Brahm captured a variety of events and activities that touched his heart during his pilgrimage to the Old City of Jerusalem and several locations in the Middle East, all of which have a historical and spiritual significance. What is important in this book is that Brahm has precisely chosen photography as his medium to visually express his feelings to those who believe in the power of symbology in photography. A collection of images of a soul-refreshing odyssey in the subjective spirit of peace.
Books and original photos are now available for sale:
Limited Edition: 23 x 35 cm, 136 pages, exclusive duotone black & white print, hardbound cover with jacket Deluxe Edition (limited to 100 copies) with slipcase, signed, numbered and include a special original A5-size photoprint is USD 99.00.

no need to double post, we're a small community where most members read most of the threads.
i have deleted the other (same) post.
congrats on your accomplishment. i hope you stick around the forum and maybe make a more personal connection.
and manny, remember your manners sir.
we are a community of inclusion not exclusion. your same messege can be worded a bit more diplomatically as some may not be aware of forum ettiquette.

Hi Manolo,
Thanks for the 'warm' NFL welcome. Yes, this was my first posting and 'contribution' to the Forum. Actually, the text was a copy and paste from my friend in Singapore who bought the book and got so excited and posted in other forums and, stupid me, for not rewording it... I apologize for the double posting as I was not sure which fora I should put for such announcement. I didn't know that everyone read all the fora here... as I would probably even read other fora such as Canon other than Leica-related ones.
Hi Joe,
Thanks very much. I will surely try to be more active in this forum... In fact, I even already have a copy of the Rangefinder Forum Member Photo Book for quite some time eventhough I was not a member until last nite.
Cheers,
Brahm

Brahm,
Welcome.
I've seen your cover photo before (who could forget that fantastic lens flare!). I think it was on CVUG, or pbase.
Unforgettable image!

Hello Ray, Doug, Phil, and Pherdinand.... Good to be in this forum.
I think I may have posted some images in Leica Forum or something. I don't usually read forums on a regular basis, but I'll try my best here
Making book is definitely costly and quite stressful as you get to see all your photos being selected by the curator for a theme. Mine were done by the photo director of the Antara Press Agency & Gallery. And then getting the acknowledgement and the go ahead from Leica Camera AG was also quite difficult process. Good thing I was financially sponsored by many parties from the paper supplier (italian paper), printer, to VISA card international.
I'll try post some images in this forum in the future. As of now, I'm tired and ready to go bed (11 pm in Jakarta).
Cheers everyone!
