Wonder if anyone can help me with a problem loading my IIIG. I'm using the take up spool from my M3 but it doesn't seat far enough into the camera for my bottom plate to fit flush on the camera. I've fiddled and can't seem to get it down. Do I need a different spool? I've not used this camera before so am stuck. Thanks. Images attached:

Thanks for any suggestions. BTW, DAG got this old camera up to speed and he did a nice job.

The silver end of the spool should easily compress when you press down with your finger or by the bottom cover plate, as you put this cover bottom plate on the camera.

As just advised, your take-up spool probably has a spring top, so that when it's seated inside the camera, you push down on the spring top and it springs up, so you can grab it...Try pushing down on the top of the spool and see if it goes inside, so that you can put the base plate on properly...
