Sports Finder/ Frame Finder/ Glass-less VF

Looking for information on making my own Viewfinder.

Wishing they still made the Ikodot, or something similar.

Ive seen people make finder "boxes" with a small peep hole and a rough approximation of the image area out front.. they look cool... but how? there has to be some math involved.

Give me some ideas! Prefer to keep this project glass-less.

The best I can figure Ken,

You need a window equivalent to the size of your image area, about as far away from your eye as the focal length of your lens.

Thats the rough idea behind a sports finder.

Your dims could be reduced proportionately to make something smaller I suppose?

Might be interesting to see a big wire frame mounted to the front of your lens 😉

I would think non optical mask finders could be very individual unless they are designed for longer eyeball-to-rear-aperture distances.
