I like to use spot meters - funny, I know, for a rangefinder guy, but they're ideal when the light conditions are funky. Unfortunately, most are bulky. Is there a small spot meter still made or available easily on the used market? I wanted a Pocket Spot, but could never get them to respond. Thanks for your help.

The Minolta Spotmeter F, Pentax Digital Spot, and Minolta Flash Meter VI (this has a built in one degree spot as well as incident dome) are the smallest spot meters I know of. They're big compared to really tiny meters like the Gossen Digisix, but are small compared to many spotmeters. I love my Flashmeter VI and Spotmeter F, either fits nicely in a small bag with a Leica and a couple lenses.

I believe there's one called "pocket spot" I've seen it written up several times. That's the good news. It's made by a couple of guys as a PT business and when they have real work, guess what happens to the production.
Physically it's not much larger than a box of matches. And not kitchen matches either.
see: meteredlight.blogspot.com and prepare to be impressed. Every review has been positive except for delivery time and you're made aware of this in their emails.
