Spotted a nice J3 in Contax mount :)

I spotted today in Prague a nice Jupiter-3 in contax mount. It's a KMZ, 1951 coated model. Serial is low number, markings are old style 1:1.5 F=5CM п

Quite sexy! I didn't buy it because I don't need a spare J3 but it's on sale at Foto Pazdera (they haven't got a website or it's pretty outdated) for 1700 CZK. Buzz me if you need/want it

I must confess it's the first J-3 i've seen here in 3 years (since I started with RFs) and trust me, I visit shops often

That's a very reasonable price. I would like to buy it, and take advantage of the UKP-dollar rate, especially as I've been caned for it recently, as payment for a major project was in that sadly depressed currency.

Raid : I'm trying to get a nice 50/1.5 Opton Sonnar. My J3 is spot-on, if I do find a nice Sonnar I'll sell you my J3

That J3 I checked out has a little bit of dust inside the lens. But lovely optics, and perfect cosmetically

Ash has a Sonnar for sale,although it is attached to a Contax,but perhaps he would split.

Are J-3s in Contax/Kiev mount really that hard to come by? I always thought it was the L39 version that was rare.

I put mine on a recently acquired IIIa and while it's sharp, strong directional lighting seems to create some wild flare. I don't think all surfaces are coated on mine (1956 vintage, as I recall), including the front surface, apparently.
