Spring in film tulip—Help

So the spring that’s in the film tulip of the quick loading system on my MP fell out last night - thankfully my sister in law found it…is this going to be an easy fix or a send away, any recommendations for the U.K. ?

Had managed to load a roll last night after I heard something drop but didn’t realise at the time, wondering whether to just sacrifice this now

I checked my M4 and it looks like the spring is just pressed into the tulip. It’s probably there to keep the film from being pushed too deep into the tulip. I’d push it in and see if it falls out easily, if if falls right out a tiny twist in an unwinding direction should increase the diameter slightly.

Your mileage may vary, only making a suggestion of what I’d do.

Not much help but similar issue in this thread. Might be an interference fit between the spring and tulip. My M6 is tucked away so can’t check it right now.

…And I’m assuming the spring/tulip configurations are similar across the various models - although I’m not sure about parts interchangeability.

Hi all,

So in an effort grab out some film from my M6 that had become stuck on the winding spool (the film ripped from the canister end - long story), I poked around on the winding spool to try to pull it out. I accidentally pulled out the spring that I think goes into the winding spool. I put it back in but not sure if I've broken something in the process.

Anyone know what the spring in the winding spool does?? And is it supposed to be attached to something or does it just free float?

Think I’ve managed to gently push it back in - film seems to be winding on etc
