Ambitious, but rubbish
Lovely; what camera is it for? I just got a Canon 50/1.4 for my A-1, but haven't tried it yet (I only have fixed lens RFs for now).

it's in ltm
i got it with an m adapter for my m2.
no $ for other bodies. must be good enough.

Looks like you got a good one, spot on focus and good contrast. The 50/1.2 is one of my favorites.
As is the Canon 50/1.4 SSC on my Canon F1.

It's a lovely lens if you get a good copy. I'm well pleased with mine, especially now that I had DAG do a CLA and disable the infinity lock.
Here's my little one cleaning her room. f2.8, 1/60 XP2.
And here's some camera shake working to good effect, I think. f2.0 1/15
Both shots on the VI-T body I'm selling, BTW.

I had my Canon 50/1.2 adjusted and cleaned by DAG, and now it is a lens that I will never sell. It has a great look.

Beautifull pictures!
How different is it from the 50 f/1.4 (which is excellent BTW)?
I'm also interested in comparison with the nikkor 50mm f/2.
Thanks

those are very nice, Kevin.
"Grain" on the second one seems more apparent, is it cropped down or is it just an illusion due to more dark areas in the second image?

by the way, mine came from Kim Coxon and the optics are super clean. Also seems to be well set for focus.

Pherdinand, I think it's just due to underexposure. The lens and film are digging out more shadow detail than my eyes could see, FWIW.

Yes, the posted images are just wonderful. Well done. A story is being told by each image.

Nice Raid! I think it's as sharp as I need a lens to be at f2.0. I haven't shot any at f1.2 since I got it back but I'll have to do so.

Nice shots, Kevin. I like the placement of the left hand in this one. And the background behind it. Very nice effect. These are the kind of surprises that make RF photography rewarding. Who knew, when you released the shutter?
Btw, I got my Bargain Canon 50mm 1.2 from KEH. There are some marks on an internal surface, but the results are excellent just the same.

Canon 50/1.2 at 1.4: I focused on the hair and not the eyes.

The lens evidently works at f4.0, too!

An advantage of using a lens extensively (or,at least, a focal length extensively) is you'll know very well what the DOF will be at a certain aperture. Seems you are there, kevin

Thanks, Pherdinand, but I'm still relying on the RF spot! It does seem that f4.0 is a nice aperture to work with using a 50, though. Enough DOF for your subject, but you still get a decent OOF blur.
So far, the look of this lens reminds me very much of the pre-asph Summilux 50 I used to own!
