Is anyone using Sprint developer & fixer for 35mm/120? TriX, HP5, FP4+, Plus X and Acros? If so, what is your procedure?

Thanks,

Gerry

I’ve used the sprint Fixer exclusively for fifteen years or so now. I shoot HP5, FP4, PanF, used to shoot Plus-X. I mix it at 1:4 and add half of the hardener recommended for films. 3 minutes, agitate for the first one, then 20 second rest, 20 seconds agitation etc to the end. I also use the Sprint End Run wetting agent. I used to use the print developer for proofsheets and proof prints, but have switched to Moersch 4812 for all that, because it lasts for ages even as working solution.

The ACROS might need 4 minutes fixing, the Delta and TMAX films do.

The film developer is a good general purpose one, but nothing special.

I was a student of Paul Krot, the founder and chemist for Sprint, back in the early 80s. He knew photo chemistry inside out, designed this for ease of use and archival processing.

Of course. Bonus is calling Sprint and getting to laugh with Nancy. She’s a hoot.

I’ve run 35, 120 and 810 film this week with Sprint fix, and printed twice with it.

I don't use the developer but do use the stop, fixer and fixer remover. Good stuff. I go 1:4 on the fixer:water for paper and bit stronger for film, with hardener added for film. I use the recommended 1:9 on the stop and 1:4 on the fixer remover.

I use Sprint's paper developer, stop bath, fixer, and fix remover. I have never used the film developer, primarily because I mix my own D-23. The chemistry does what it's supposed to, is all liquid rather than powder, and lasts. The staff is helpful and responds quickly and accurately to questions. What's not to like?
