square hood for summicron 35 v1..?

Hi everybody...
I got a summicron v1 8 elements and I would like to know if I can put one of those modern square hood on it....

im in the same boat. what is the "correct" hood anyway. theres so many summicron hoods.

The "correct" vented hood of that vintage was the 12585, then they introduce the 12504. There was an unvented hood in the beginning that had a five letter code but off hand I can't remember what it was.

I have 5-6 Leica lens hoods,and there is one Leica lenshood that is for 35mm and 50mm lenses. It is not square. Part black and part chrome.

I really want the modern square hood for my 35 cron 1st version... someone have try to modified the square for this old lens..?

They never made one. There's nothing to keep it aligned anyway. The round ones do the job just fine.
