Stains on Film

The last roll I developed has rusty looking stains on it. I was wondering if anyone knows about this, specifically if it will harm the negs in the long term, since there are a few frames worth keeping.
I am mixing up all fresh chemistry before developing any more film.

Depends on what kind of stains they are. Chances are they are due to improper rinsing or hard water mineral deposits. Are you doing B&W or C41? You can try cleaning the film with Delta D-100 Total Emulsion Cleaner for that already damaged.
