[FONT=Verdana, Helvetica, Arial]I have just processed two rolls of 120 Tmax and 1 roll 35mm 36 exp Tmax in a small tank using rodinal @ 1-50, about 1.3 litres of solution. I had also just shot four sheets of 4x5 Tmax to check some film holders, and as the results weren’t that important I decided to stand process them in the used rodinal from developing the roll films. I chose 1 hour with a couple of inversions. To my surprise the sheet films were beautifully developed! with good tonal range and nice shadow and highlight detail, in fact I liked the results so much that I will continue to do this with my sheet films shot in normal conditions, and save some money in the process. Why take the chance with used developer for important images? For a few pennies worth of Rodinal you can use fresh stuff and get the consistancy that is so important in the developing "work flow".

before I did this Ken I would 100% agree with you, but I am seeing some of the nicest 4x5 negs I've ever made. I will test it again for sure, but to answer your question, why not take a chance to create a new and accepted normal? Obviously the volume of chemicals was sufficient to fully develope both the roll and sheet films, and now just by chance I have found something that to my eye, in this circumstance, is better than Ive seen before developed in fresh chemistry!
