stand development : quick question

I just started a stand development (Rodinal 1+100). Does it matter if it stands one hour, two hours or even more ? I'm asking because there's a good movie on TV this evening (with Paul Newman, Road to Perdition), and the first hour will end when the fim is running for 10 minutes, so just at the time the essentials of the story will become clear ...

That's a good thread to read...
I've been doing some developing at 1+100 Rodinal and have been inverting every 4-5 minutes...not a huge difference when I develop the roll between 30 or 40+ minutes...
Don't get me wrong there is a bit more density but not a big difference...
All I can say is do some testing...just make sure it's on a roll you can afford to lose...

Well, it's done: FP4 at 200 asa, stand-dev in Rodinal 1+100, one minute slow inversions to start, stand 45 minutes, 6 inversions, stand 45 minutes. The negs are excellent ! Nice tones and good sharpness. µ

Maybe a bit more grain then what I'm used to with DD-X, is that possible ?

The way I look at it, you need 3ml of Rodinal for one 35mm film roll exposed at its nominal speed. And, after half hour not much more happens.

Try 20' total next time with two inversions every 3 minutes ... (of course after the more frequent inversions in the first minute).

Here's one of the pictures of the film from this evening, developed while I was watching the movie; just scanned straight from the negative and resized. Scanned with Vuescan on a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV; no corrections by Vuescan.

Film was exposed with a Konica S3 that I just received. I guess it's working ok 🙂.
