are there good books you know concerning the constructions and problems involved in the construction of photographic lenses you know?
should be written for s.o. from a fisics/math department at university w/o previous activity in this field.

A basic overview might be Sidney Ray's "The Photographic Lens" ISBN 0240510321 - old and out of print. He was one of my photographic science course tutors many moons ago. Its not mathematical though. You might try searching the Focal Press titles (in or out of print - try abebooks.com with focal press as the publisher) as a start point perhaps.
You could do worse than Rudolf Kingslake's Lens Design Fundamentals.

I have Rudolph Kingslake's 'A History of the Photographic Lens'. Very readable without being mathematical. It discusses how the various lens aberrations were progressively reduced. About half the book is devoted to biographies of the main lens designers starting with Voigtlander in 1732.
