Hi, I know I should be embarrassed to ask this question, but what the heck. Trying to figure out the smartest way to configure my Contax system bag (I think it's popularly known as the G1 system bag). The way it is now just doesn't seem to make sense. Sure, I could spend time moving the spacers around but would much prefer to see a setup that works well. I plan to carry a G2, 28mm, 45mm, 90mm, TLA 200, some film and batteries in it. Would much appreciate seeing a picture of a good setup. - Thanks a bunch.

(the image below is of the actual bag I have)

The initial setup on yours definitely looks a bit strange. My configuration (I think this is the way it was designed for??) puts three lenses on the bottom (accessible from the front flap). Each lens slot has a pad over it. The top compartment takes the camera with the flaps covering two compartments that can hold a flash, film or hoods. I keep filters and remote release in the lid. I love it for my G2, the camera with lens and three others fit perfectly. Incredibly compact.

Larry, thank you very, very much. Your setup makes a lot more sense. I am looking at your pics now and setting mine up. Again - very grateful for your advice and the pics.

Not a Contax System Bag but what I carry around:

Socke what kind of bag? I have the Contax G series bag...the G1 bag seems smaller. Are there any major differences in the two bags.

Wow, that G1 system bag is smaller than I realized from other pics. In approximately Andy's initial configuration would it fit two bodies with lenses vertically, with room below/center for a third lens like the 90?

Doug, this bag is actually really small, but perfectly sized for the configuration I use it in (no room left, even for air). The internals are configurable enough, that you probably could fit two bodies with lenses (not the 90), with a third lense in the bottom/center (90 would work in that position by itself).

Andy, if you want more details, I can send you some.

Sorry, i don't know the make and modell of my bag, I got it from my brother some 15 years ago.

The only marking is DEVILBISS.

It is ugly but usefull and I traveled a lot with it.
The setup above was what I had with me in Madrid lately.

Larry, yes - please, I'd love more details. I re-configured my bag to fit 3 lenses at the bottom, TLA200 under one of the top flaps, the G2 body just like you show in your pics. I still had room left on one side of the bag to insert the single tall divider (hard to figure out where it should go), and thus made extra compartments for a 6-roll film bundle, 1 remote flash cable, and a box of filters. Once my T2 arrives, it will probably take the place of the filter box.
