Starshaped vs. smoother diaphragm

Ok, we had this question in the ZI forum since the new C-Sonnar 50/1.5 has a starshaped diaphragm.

Since I have a J-8 in LTM with the smooth aperture and a J-8m in Contax/Kiev mount with the starshaped aperture I thought I'll try it.

I waited a bit too long for f2 light and thus have no f4 picture from the Kiev and the hit and miss shutterspeed dial on my Zorki 4 was a bit too tricky to set for me and I underexposed one stop but I have a f4 pic this way :)

Pictures are on Agfa XRG 200.

All in all my test is pretty useless:bang:
Hopefully somebody else can pick it up where I failed :)

First batch is from the Zorki 4 with J8

What I learned so far,

Neither my Zorki nor my Kiev rangefinders are acurate, I focused on the bumper.

Setting 1/15th on the Zorki is very tricky and I got 1/60th

My subject was not very usefull for a bokeh test.

Rewinding after 14 frames in the Kiev and forwarding with lenscap at 1/1000th in the Zorki to 16 cost me one and a half frame, the lab handled this fine but I wouldn't try that with slide film.
