First impressions summary of Steinheil Culminar 135mm /4,5 VL used on a M9:

Please see a sample photo on ISO 1250 on low-light conditions on full open aperture, as well as some more information:

IMO this lens renders very nice, and I really like the bookeh of this (because of 16 blade aperture?). Also it produces very nice and soft skin tones. In fact all images from this looks very soft. When comparing with photos by LEICA MACRO-ELMAR-M 90mm f/4 the Culminar photos seems less prone to noise for some reason???

The cons are low contrast and some really heavy vignetting in the outer end of corners. In fact I would say that post cropping is needed. This lens was picked up i a SH store in Praha, and I have seen several of these for bargain prices on eBay.

Thanks for the info!
I have this lens as well. I got it as part of a trade a while back to go on a Sony Nex5n. I wanted a longer lens and with extra length this would give me because of the Nex chip size this seemed useful. Not got getting the Nex until the new year so can't post any examples yet.
