I just though I'd see who is interested in stereo photography. Currently I make stereo cards for stereoscopes using both the Realist and Bell & Howell TDC Vivid cameras. Both give excellent results. Just recently I was able to adapt some rings to the B&H so I could use #8 or UV filters. My latest project was to make a set of 30 stereo cards of the tourist-trap town I live near and package those with an antique stereoscope. I've found it's cheaper to get stereoscopes off of eBay than to try and make them yourself or from a kit.

I'm interested in stereoscopy but haven't entered it yet. 🙂 In my film days I found the Realists e.a. a bit too expensive. And now I'm into digital and don't want to go to film ever again if I don't have to. Stereoscopy will have to wait a bit, it seems.

I have been doing stereo photography for about ten years, but not recently.

In the past I used Realist, Kodak, and TDC cameras, but my current camera is a Nimslo. They were made to produce rectinlinear "faux" 3D prints, but I use them to make stereo cards.

With the Nimslo, 4 images are produced on the 35mm film. I use the first and last image and cut and paste on a 4x7" card for stereo viewing. The images are very sharp.

IMO the Nimslo is a quality camera. I tried a Nishika once with horrid results. Don't use that.

I will try to post a sample tomorrow. It's so good you can free-view it on the monitor! I need to transfer it to Photobucket first.

This was an experiment and the success depends upon the resolution of the viewer's monitor. My monitor is set at 1440 x 900 and I can easily see the stereo effect. I find that if the images are larger on a monitor I can't get them together.
