I bought this lens used years ago, and at the time, the focus tab felt buttery smooth. I then did not use the lens for a number of years, I was surprised to find that the tab itself had literally fallen off, and also, when focusing the lens toward the infinity side, the resistance builds up quickly, and then gets stuck at around 10ft mark. At this position, the aperture ring also develops increased resistance, with a tendency to remain stuck at whatever position it’s in. But when the focus tab is moved over to the closer focus distance end, the aperture ring moves like it’s supposed to.
The lens otherwise looks clean internally. I’m just struck at how much of a change this is, it probably developed due to being unused for several years? What is the reason for this issue?
Is this something DAG can fix? It seems that the previous owner of this lens tried to shave down the inner barrel of the lens. The lens doesn’t focus properly, is this also something that can be fixed?
Edit - I should add, the reason it stayed on the shelf for so long, is because I realized I’m a 35mm person haha. Long term plan is to get it back to par, then sell it for someone to actually use,
