A gifted Ansco Speedex 4.5 has some body leather "lifting" in the front. What might be the best way to secure it safely?😕Camera was produced in the early fifties.
Use contact cement -- spread it thinly on both surfaces that you want to join together, and let it get tacky (maybe 7-8 minutes or so). Then press the body covering onto the body. It will be very secure, but you'll still be able to peel the covering off if you need to.
What I've used with success on lifted leather and the like, which is neither as permanent as Pliobond nor as smelly, is a craft glue called "Alene's Tacky Glue," which you can get at craft stores. It's like a white glue, water soluble, but tackier and it dries a bit rubbery. It sticks very well, but it can be unstuck without ruining things.
