still having fun?

I'm in much the same boat as Ernesto. There's the satisfaction of doing a job competently, there's the rather greater satisfaction of giving prints to people for whom they will have lasting value, and there's the boost of having people say good things about my work.

Maybe more automations (digital point and shoot?) can make easier some people's shooting... I enjoy automations too: sometimes I forget about exposure and focus even shooting film, with my point and shoot XA... It makes even perfect low ISO slides!

Nope, I'll chime in. I had a lovely day Friday on a hike with my family, snapping away with a GA645 when I saw something interesting. Saturday, I had a commercial gig that I quite enjoyed with a 5D also. I never reach for the digital when it's for me, and I never reach for film when it's for somebody else. Suits me fine and keeps me happy as a clam.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes.

I am happy to report that gear talk is as engaging as photography. And I mean Photography, not just stopping down to f/16, setting to A and clicking away. Photography as a means to capture a scene, to freeze a moment you saw that nobody or hardly anybody else had the chance to see, and the ability to express oneself.

Some see it as intellectual posturing. Others as overstated understatement.

But the joy is still there.

Yes ,having fun and still enjoying peoples reactions when they see themselves on film over the web.What a combination. Love it. Poor old Roger still writing for Landrover World 🙂.I haven`t bought that for a while.
My Landy is going in on Tues . Electric window has packed up . Yes ...its one of the new ones 🙂 but still works hard towing.

Fun to a certain point!

When I go through periods of not getting the results I want I become extremely frustrated and the fun starts to disappear which causes me to become a little 'snappy' in my approach which gives less result and pisses me off even more! 😛

Occasionally I'll get so annoyed with myself and the process that I won't take a photo for a couple of weeks! 😱
 
It's fun ok ... now go outside and play.

It's also a bit like eating if you eat everything in sight you get sick

Off to the Jazz festival now with the evil slr that will be fun 🙂
 
I had a fun day shooting at work (a bakery), and then later an alley crawl with my wife: both of these with my new OM4T (I blame you people and this forum for my sudden need to possess one).
 
Yes, I am still having fun with Photography. I like going out with just one "Lens of the Day", or my arsenal of lenses. Depends on my mood.

I am gear conscience, but not for owing thing the greatest and latest.. but as a tool to achieve my end goal. I own both a DSLR and a Film RF, I have Film SLR too, but I let my son play with it 😀

I have been letting my DSLR sit for a while, since I got the M5. I may even sell it to get a used DRF (Epson), But, I'd prefer a used M9.

I like both Digital and Film cameras... each has is Pro's and Con's. Each can deliver excellent IQ, IMO, just different IQ.
 
YUP still having fun, did the first outdoor shoot of the new year Wednesday morning then spent yesterday morning shooting around the tidal pool in DC and finally spent this morning scouting a local park for possible locations. Ended up putting a total of 14 rolls of film through four different cameras.
