Still scratchy

The Zorki 1 is still scratching my film, but why it started to do it to the b&w and not the C41 stuff, I don't know. I'll have to run some color through it to see if it is a new developement, or a matter of film base thickness. I hope it's not the curtains doing it since I put four coats of fabric paint on them to fix the holes.

Ilford HP5 PLUS 400 is a bit grainier than I thought it would be, but then I had no control over the developement (commercially hand done). I did get the best scan this time, so that might have helped on the touch-up in PSE8. I took out the scratches, and removed some offending overhead branches in one photo ( there, I admit it). Only thing else was cropping to get the file size down to a manageable level for posting.

I am liking this camera better the more I use it. I've even ordered an I-26M for it so I can use the 40.5 filter set from my Contax IIa. I have an eye on a couple of other lenses, just want to check on references of the sellers before I make that leap.

Possible reasons for scratching the film would include film chips from careless film cutting/loading (not necessarily by you) or a scratched pressure plate. It's quite easy to remove the shutter crate from the body, I'd be doing that to investigate...assuming the problem is definitely in the camera and not processing.

I might try that, as soon as I determine that it won't affect the shutter workings. I don't want to put it back together only to find the speeds are all off.

The I-26M came as I was in the middle of writing this. Can't wait to open it up.
