Van down by the river.
This has been a Mobius curve of frustration, but briefly:

Last month some kid ran a red light in Boston and clobbered my car. Since it has relatively low miles, the insurance co. didn't 'total' it.

So I waited five weeks for it to be repaired.

In the meantime I drove a rental car; a Mitsu Galant. Oddly enough, it was parked outside my apartment with the factory alarm on.

The next day the passenger side window was smashed and my GPS & Bessas gone. They left the Canon Sure Shot P&S...so they knew the value of what they'd found.

I made some calls, found that the loss isn't covered by Entetprise Rental, and I dropped my apartment theft/loss insurance. D'Oh!

FYI: Both bodies are in very good condition, except the black R has a small chip in the paint, and the silver Bessa R has 5-6 small 'bubbles' next to the rewind crank which appeared a few months ago. (no idea why)

The 50 is the black Canon 1.8 with a metric scale only. It has a Hoya 40mm filter on it and a vented hood purchased from 'HeavyStar' on EBay.

The 100/3.5 is the small black + chrome version; distance marked in feet. It has a Tiffen UV filter on it.

SN#s soon to come...

Thanks,

CJ

Really sorry to hear about that. Auto break-ins seriously suck. One time my old Honda Civic (this was like 1987 or thereabouts) was busting into. I got into the car and all my maps, glove compartment contents, etc were everywhere. I sat for a minute then it dawned on my that I had loaded two big pillowcases full of laundry into the back seat but had not gotten to the laundromat the day before. Sure enough all my stuff was gone, mostly "whites". And being your typical 20's-something bachelor at the time I had not done laundry for about 3 weeks. Only sox and briefs I owned were on me at the time! Spent a load of money buying all new boxers, briefs, sox, etc. that day!

Just curious....do you leave your camera in the car overnight for a reason? When I take my cameras out they never leave my side or my shoulder.

Nope; don't leave them there overnight. Batteries would suffer. Those cameras were in the car because I got home from the grocery store at around 11:30 and had those bags to take in. Was going to go back and retrieve my stuff. I'd guess the break-in took place between 12-12:30. Damn.
