Stolen Hasselblad at USC game

I carry a separate policy on my camera equipment. The cost is 1% of the claimed value with no deductible. Don't know if there is a 10% surcharge after a claim though.

Sorry about sounding like a jerk (as I'm sure the other posters are), but pretty much only idiots or pro shooters bring anything more than a P&S to a football game (and in the land of cell phone cameras, not even a P&S anymore).

When folks like Waterman100 can make shots like his recent "Mets Game" photo (check the gallery), your comment (and the others like it) come off as more than mildly jerkish, as well as generally anti-good-photography. I'm sure that's not intended, but seriously. The dude just had his Hassy stolen, and a sporting event is a fine place to get awesome photos.

Whether the camera was taken while in the stands, or at a pre-game or post-game tailgate party, will help consider what course of action to better your odds for recovery. If in the stands, were you sitting in a predominantly Stanford section, or an USC section, or neutral. Depending on the orientation of the situation, then you may want to cast a search out in either or both campuses, and their surrounding areas. If I recall the LA Colliseum area, I would not expect any pawn or camera shop to take that item and expect to sell it locally, so I would look for online buy/sell sites. If a Stanford oriented crowd, you might want to contact Keeble & Shuchat Photography, one of the few remaining full-service professional camera retail/new/used camera stores in the Stanford and larger SF Bay area, and ask if they can put it on a check-list for used equipment coming in.

Hope you recover it.
