In Germany it's pretty bad, too, though most crimes are committed by Scandinavians. To be honest, it's quite typical. There are statistics, too, you'll have to believe me on this. If you don't, ask the police. I did, and they sure confirmed my suspicion.

In Scandinavian countries you may leave your precious Leica on the restaurant table, go home and call the restaurant next morning that you'll pick up the camera by lunchtime. And I'm not joking, people do it all the time. This is really the first time that I here scandinavians committing robberies in Germany. I don't say that it is untrue but allow me to tell this to my friends. They'll all laugh to the idea.

Check gumtree.com classified as sometimes very cheap suspect stuff turns up on there I London.
