Stolen Moments: catching strangers in initimate moments

these two young ladies, dressed in their best party clothes, had just snuck out of a formal party at Lincoln Center to catch some fresh air. Being New Yorkers, they had already adopted the airs sophistication of their mothers or older sisters, but still retained the universal innocence of pre-teens. Quite a juxtaposition. They had just climbed this large staircase to nowhere that sits in front of one of the Lincoln Center Buildings when my wife began flapping her arms to get me to turn around to catch these youngsters vamping. Sometimes a good assistant or spouse is essential if the distracted photographer isn't to miss a critical decisive moment.

barrett, thanks. marriage does have its rewards. as you know, my better half even joins us gear heads at RFF beer 'n gear gatherings. hoping we can make this coming week.
 
I'm not sure if this one counts as an intimate moment, but it certainly is a stolen one, as I'm sure this little girl wouldn't be happy to have her dad show this to her prom date in about 15 years. Anyway, it reminds of the old Coppertone suntan lotion ads...

Yeah-can you imagine the outcry that would occur if the Coppertone ads reappeared today? Everybody from MADD to PETA to the Taliban would protest.
