petronius, I am an admirer of many of your photographs for their apparent simplicity and composition. This is an amazing image in my humble opinion.

Hats off to you.

Petronius, I must admit that when you posted this I immediately thought of Winogrand's similar ( but wider ) shot, so much so that I thought you'd cropped his image and posted that to make a point and as a little 'homage' to the man himself. :)

I'm wrong again ( it happens all the time ) and you've posted another interesting photo ( which also seems to happen all the time ) :D

I didn't know Winogrand's photograph. I sought it out and I'm guessing you mean this one. A good photograph indeed, but to me it lacks the tenderness of the picture taken by petronius.

Remarkable similarities between the two. I wonder if it is a coincidence, or an homage?

Yep Mick, thats the picture I was thinking of....though it's not quite as wide as I seemed to think!

Coincidence or homage may open a whole new debate about how we are influenced both conciously and unconciously. Though I think its fair to say that a good eye may see the world in a similar manner or at least see similar fractions of time and similar moments within those fractions to someone else with 'a good eye' and we know Petronius has a fine eye ( possibly even two fine eyes;))
