Dear Tom-

Thanks again for responding to my previous post. I have 5 M's and an assortment of M lenses.

May I ask what is the best way to store the bodies and lenses when they are not in use?

Just curious because you have tons of gear.

Thanks again,

I don't store mine in cases. For the most part they're laying about on tables and shelves, wearing only a neckstrap and lenshood. Rarely any caps on the lenses either. Good air circulation and plenty of light discourages fungus.

I have a large, heavy duty tool cabinet with 6 drawers and each drawer can hold an assortment of M's and lenses (as well as Nikon Rfs and lenses).
I dont uses cases as they are a bit of a breeding ground for stuff. I keep whats in use on a table and in a regular cabinet. Everything is cycled through in a fairly organized way. Each camera has at least a couple of rolls through them every month.
Vancouver is good this way, as we rarely get hot and humid weather so there is little chance of stuff growing on shutters or between lens elements.
I find that lenses are prone to attract dust though - and if I can find lens caps, they go on - but otherwise I just clean them prior to use.
This sounds organized, but the truth is that my SLR cabinet is an unmitigated disaster. Leica SLR's and Nikon F's are piled up with assorted lenses. OK, one day I will sort through it and put things in order.
