Hi,

I'm just a amateur photographers but I like to sell some of these photos. I have now looking what could be the best way, there are a lot of so-called stock photos but they are more trageted to professionals only.

Have you any experience?

For example in Flickr there is not possible to sell your own photos it's only storing. I found also one new company ALLTO1, they will provide selling also in near future, at least the comission was lower than some others, when I asked more info. Actually it looks very simply and easy.

But let's see,
Peter.

Unless your photos appeal to the customers of stock agencies, and adhere to the regulations put up by the stock agency, and if you provide the agency with high class images on a very regular basis, I don't think there's much money to be made from selling through stock agencies.

Selling photography in general is tricky. Is there any particular reason why you want to sell your photos? Or could your feeling be served by having your photos printed and framed and given as a present to relatives and friends? That's what I do, and it feels good to give something that I made to someone I care about.

I asked more information from that new company ALLTO1, and their comission was only 30%, so I quickly calculated that if one photo is around 40-50 Eur (based on their pricelist) and perhaps I could sell 100 photos per year, not so bad result.

Why I like to sell? Just little extra money per year, that's it.

But also I'm interested store my photos somewhere and show to others, I don't like to send my photos all the time by emails.
